SYAMILAH ZULKIFLI | | 29 Mac 2021

The Prime Minister said this high technology initiative is in line with the government’s MyDigital initiative launched recently.

“TracAPM Digital System has been tested in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (“KLIA”) and will be used to digitally to process travellers at the KLIA entry point and can also be used to verify Vaccine Passports to be issued by Malaysia and other countries.”

“The government highly appreciates this CSR initiative which shows the goodwill and readiness of the private sector in supporting the government in facing the recovery phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. I am sure this digital technology will be of great assistance to the APM front-liners in safeguarding our national borders.

The TracAPM Digital System comes with the “APM Trac and Trace”, “APM Geofencing” and “APM Watch”, connected in real time to Tracvirus E-Cert International Protocol (“Tracvirus”). Malaysian Civil Defence Force to use TracVirus app to monitor those entering country, says minister [21 Feb 2021]

SEPANG, Feb 21 — The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) will use the TracVirus application (app) to obtain data and monitor all individuals entering the country, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions), Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.

He said the use of the application developed by local company, Tri-G Technologies Sdn Bhd would also speed up the entry process of those who had previously filled in the form manually including health information such as Covid-19 screening results.

He said the application would go through a two-week trial period starting tomorrow at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to check its effectiveness before being expanded to other points of entry, thus encouraging travel bubbles.

“This system can track the position of individuals in real time, in contrast to the MySejahtera application which shows the history of a person’s last journey,” he said after reviewing APM’s security operations at KLIA, here, today.

Redzuan said he had also discussed the matter with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, especially on the data-sharing aspect to facilitate APM’s work.

He said the app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and App Store, and can be used in eight languages—Malay, English, Mandarin, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian and Arabic.

On APM’s operation at KLIA, Redzuan said the team placed a total of 44 staff members daily, whose role, among others, was to inform visitors about the entry process at the country’s main point of entry. — Bernama

APM bakal guna TracVirus pantau kemasukan individu ke Malaysia [Sinar Harian] 21 Februari 2021

MUHAMMAD AMNAN HIBRAHIM | | 21 Februari 2021

ALOR GAJAH, Dec 6 — The Civil Defence Force (APM) plans to recruit 20,000 new volunteer members next year to further increase its ability to respond to disasters.

APM Chief Commissioner Datuk Roslan Wahab said the recruitment of new members would focus on communities where disasters happen so that they can provide immediate aid in case of any emergencies before further aid from various security agencies arrive.

“The new membership drive will be focused at communities in disaster-prone areas, such as floods, landslides and storms, and to train these new members to be ready to face various emergencies in their area.

“After all, they are more likely to know better what is happening in the areas where they are from,” he said during a press conference after visiting the Alor Gajah District Civil Defence office today.

Also present was Melaka APM director Lt Col (PA) Effendy Ali.

Roslan said those who are interested to sign up as a APM volunteer for the next year’s new intake can visit the APM website at www.civildefence.gov.my or the nearest APM office.

Meanwhile, he said APM received an allocation of RM25 million to replace its aging ambulances in stages beginning next year.

For a start, RM5 million will be spent to purchase 20 new ambulances, while RM10 million will be allocated for the same purpose in 2022 and 2023 respectively, he said. — Bernama
